Drilling for Accuracy

Now TenKey Tutor™ will help you attempt to enter full sized numbers accurately and learn to detect errors.  Every keystroke is monitored and TenKey Tutor issues an "Uh-Oh" with each error, and does not proceed until you finally get it right.

Using the Slider Bar now becomes important.  You can decide which precision(s) to work on, but we suggest using at least Currency ($) and Floating Point (F) each for awhile to become proficient with and without decimals.

When you make a mistake, don't backspace.  TenKey Tutor's philosophy is that there is no benefit in practicing backspacing.  You want your fingers to strike as many correct keys and as few incorrect keys as possible.  A backspace is not a numeric key, and therefore is counted as an error.  So when the mistake is made and you hear the "uh oh," just strike the correct key.  And once you have mastered the accuracy, you won't need to use the backspace.

If you haven't already checked out the reports, now is the time to start using them.  From the Reports menu, select the report you wish and chart your progress for an idea of how you have done in the past and how you are doing now.  As you monitor your progress, use the Sort capability in the Detail Report.  This will allow you to monitor your progress by Learning Mode so that your progress in this stage is not confused with the errors you made in the FlashKey sessions.  See the discussion about sorting reports in the Reports / Edit menu for further information.

When you reach 98% accuracy and 60 kpm, you are ready to move a little faster, so proceed to Learning Mode 5, Drilling for Speed.
