Learning Modes

The Learning Modes menu item is used to quickly switch between modes.  The training process is best accomplished when the Learning Modes are done in numeric order, but you may go back and select a prior mode for review at any time.  In either case, simply select the desired mode from the Learning Modes menu.

Following is a brief description of each mode.

Mode 1 -  TenKey Tutor Tour --  Here you will see what each learning mode does and learn the names of each of the components in TenKey Tutor.

Mode 2  -  Learn TenKey Basics...  -- Information necessary to use most tenkey pads, whether keyboard, adding machine, or calculator.  Learn about "home row" keys,  hand positioning, precision, and various other basic elements.

Mode 3 - Learn Touch Keying  --  This is the first step to data entry.  Follow the flashing keys and listen to their names to teach your fingers where all the keys are and how to react instantly to single digits on a data tape.  In TenKey Tutor, this is a text display device that can hold up to 32,767 keystrokes, and is used to display the numeric data that is to be entered by the student.

Mode 4 -  Drill for Accuracy  --  Here TenKey Tutor™ will watch you enter  numbers and help you learn to detect errors.  Every keystroke is monitored and TenKey Tutor issues an "Uh-Oh" with each error; waiting patiently until you finally get it right.

Mode 5 -  Drill for Speed  --  This mode challenges you to really build your speed.  Race through sample data and see how fast and accurate you can become.  (Chart your progress and revert to Mode 4, if more accuracy practice is needed.

Mode 6 -  Measure Skills  --  When you reach this mode, you should be ready for real world measurement.  See how fast and accurate you are with standard test data.  If still not satisfied, head back to modes 4 and/or 5 as appropriate.

Mode 7 -  Use Calculator  --  Shrink TenKey Tutor™ down to the size of the tenkey pad and use it as an on-screen calculator; complete with paper tape In TenKey Tutor, this is a text display device that can hold up to 32,767 keystrokes. Used to record the keystrokes entered in any of the learning modes, including the Calculator. Printable, savable and loadable..  You can have a tenkey calculator as near as your Start tray (bottom of Windows screen), complete with printable and savable "paper" tape for review and storage!  See Show Tenkey Only to learn how to set this up.
