Keystroke Guides
TenKey Tutor includes two free-floating "Keystroke Guide" diagrams that can optionally be retained on the screen for reference during practice. These are shown below at one-half their actual size:
|
Keypad Finger Guide |
Tenkey Pad Guide |
These two images show where to place the fingers while keying via the ten-key pad and while entering numbers via the QWERTY keyboard. These also indicate the "Home Row" keys (where the fingers should be placed when not actually pressing a number or math symbol) and use arrows to indicate which keys should be pressed by which finger.
These two diagrams, or "guides", can be set to automatically appear whenever the Learn TenKey Basics... topic is selected from the Learning Mode menu. They can also be popped up as separate windows for convenient reference whenever you wish.
To refer to either the QWERTY Guide or the Keypad Guide, simply select that option from the TenKey Tutor main Options / Keystroke Guides... menu. (This menu item display a checkmark if any of it's submenu items are currently selected.)
The Keystroke Guides submenu includes the following options:
AutoShow Guides
- This automatically displays the appropriate guide whenever the
Learn Touch Keying learning mode
option is active. It
displays the QWERTY Guide if the main Statistical Typing menu option has
been selected and the QWERTY
keyboard is visible on the main screen. Otherwise
the Keypad Guide is shown.
When another learning mode is selected, the guide window is automatically
hidden.
Show Keypad Guide - Displays/hides the Keypad Guide.
Show QWERTY Guide - Displays/hides the QWERTY Guide.
