Drilling for Speed

OK, now you are ready to really build your speed.  The point in Mode 5 is to concentrate on associating numbers with keys mindlessly, as quickly as possible.  The ultimate objective here is manual dexterity, so ignore the occasional mistake or two.  Race through sample data and see how fast and accurate you can become.

Your accuracy rate will drop at first, but you should find that your accuracy rate will pick back up and keep up with your increase in speed.  If not, you may have advanced to Mode 5 a little too soon.  Continue to chart your progress and revert to Mode 4, if more accuracy practice is needed.  Some people may find that alternating between the two modes is the most effective learning method for them.

When you feel you are ready for real world results and would like to compare your skill level with others using TenKey Tutor, or others in your area or nationally (job search, for example), move to the standardized Learning Mode 6, Measure Skills mode.  Otherwise, skip to the Use Calculator mode and begin to apply your skills for real.
